I was given the wonderful opportunity to review Potty Patrol – Potty Training Alarm Diapers.
That’s right , alarm diapers DO exist! These diapers are wonderful and served the purpose. The starter kit comes with boy or girl diapers, 24 sensor diapers, a sensor and a training guide. The diapers fit weights of between 25 and 40lbs. They are so easy to use and my neighbor thought the sensor was pretty cool. She said her son just had to show everyone what he was wearing! He felt like a little spy
All you have to do is place the Potty Patrol sensor diaper on your child, making sure the snaps are on the front. Then you snap the sensor onto the front of the diaper. Once it’s snapped on, the sensor is automatically activated.
Then all you have to do is listen for the alarm to sound, which was a short siren noise and then it played Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star twice. It wasn’t obtrusive and the choice in song was great because it doesn’t scare the child, nor was the siren sound.
Once you hear the alarm and song, QUICKLY take your child to the potty, the faster the better. They will make the cause and effect connection that potty = toilet. Once your child gets over the sounds with the first couple of diapers, they will make the connection pretty fast.
Once you’re done with the diaper, unsnap it and it will automatically reset it (so cool!). Then it can be stored or snapped onto a new diaper.
Potty Patrol does offer refill kits ($19.99) and the alarm is reusable with them. That made me extremely happy and I thought the value of the starter kit was great ($29.99) since I’m sure the nighttime training will take a little longer to accomplish.
