Mantry kindly sent me this box to review.
The Subscription Box: Mantry
The Cost: $75
The Products: The Modern Man’s Pantry: a Food of the Month Club that helps you discover American artisan food.
Apinya Thai Chili Sauce $7: We have tried this on are shrimp and wings and it makes them so much better.
Gordy’s Pickle Jar Thai Basil Jalapeños $10: We like hot things so putting them on are sandwiches, nachos or whatever we can think of.
Pok Pok Thai Basil Som $15: This is a vinegar type of thing you can mix in drinks. I did not try this out.
Toasted Coconut Chips $4.49: I am not a big fan of coconut at all but I am in love with the chips. They are a little sweet and there is something about them that I could not stop eating them.
Dried & True Sriracha Lime Jerky $11.99: When is comes to beef jerky in this house we all have to eat it. We like Sriracha a lot. We eat it on a lot of things in this house and when I seen this was made with it I was happy. I like that when you eat the beef jerky you can taste the Sriracha with a hint of the lime. This was a big win for us.
Lord Nut Levington Thai Curry & Lemongrass Peanuts $5.49: Not fond of them at all when I tried them out. But the 6 year old loved them and would not put them down.
Verdict: So far everything we’ve sampled in this box has been delicious – I think Mantry does a great job of curating high-quality food from makers across the US. I wouldn’t recommend this box if you’re looking for the best value for your money, (this box has a retail value of about $53), but I do think its a good box if you’re looking to sample different artisan foods each month, and the wooden crate makes it a great gift too.
