Academic Planner

I was given the opportunity to receive and review a 2014/2015 academic planner from Order Out of Chaos. Designed by Leslie Josel, a certified professional organizer, it is designed to help students to manage their time rather than simply provide them with a place to record homework assignments, upcoming tests, due dates, etc.

At first glance, I didn’t think that I was the target market for this planner. It seemed more geared towards high school and undergraduate students. There are 4 kids in this household, this is a great planner to have.

The first thing I noticed was a handy planner user guide that shows you just how to use the planner. There is an index page at the beginning where students can record all of their classes ONE TIME instead of on every single page. I appreciated this just because it simplified things. And it looks neat.

The planner has a month view so that you are able to take a quick glance at the month ahead to see things such as appointments, events, birthdays, holidays, etc. It also provides you with a space for notes on that upcoming month.

Of course the planner also has a weekly view, and this is the part that comes the most in handy. If you actually use it and fill out what you need to do on a daily and weekly basis, this planner makes it simple for you to keep track of everything. It also makes things seem a little less overwhelming.
