I first became acquainted with emerginC’s Scientific Organics skin care about a year ago. I tried several sample packets of the products and one of those was this cleanser, the Kombucha Cleanser.
The texture and look of it is a clearish liquid that dispenses in a pump. The pump is nice; it doesn’t dispense very much cleanser at a time. I usually squirt a couple pumps into my hand, rub my hands together, and then massage it on to my face to lather. Speaking of lather, it does lather nicely but doesn’t foam up or anything. Upon rinsing my skin does not feel tight at all. I can also remove mascara with it easily and without hurting my eyes as long as I keep them closed while I’m doing it. My skin just feels cleansed and even somewhat soothed after I wash with the Kombucha Cleanser.
My skin is dry and I’m experiencing some breakouts (yay hormones!). After washing my face with this cleanser everything seems to be a lot less red and angry looking. I attribute that to all the green tea and aloe in the cleanser.
I definitely like this better the second time around, and would recommend it to anyone looking for something soothing and non-drying. It says it’s suitable for all skin types. I have no idea how it would work on oily skin, but it’s great for me. It’s kind of pricey ($34 / 4 oz), but if you can afford it I think skin care is definitely an area to spend your money. All the makeup in the world doesn’t mean anything if you don’t take great care of your skin!
