A good wine always makes a meal perfect! And trust me, in this family we love wine. So I was happy when I got the chance to review a few of Mia Wines:

We’ve spent over a year talking to wine drinkers all over the world about our idea, who by sharing their views on what they like in wine, helped us created Mia. By the way, we called it Mia because once all the growers, designers, bottlers and distributors heard about the idea they wanted to be part of it and started calling it ‘mine’ so we called the wine just that – ‘Mia’ – the Spanish word for mine.
So now our wines are available in many parts of the world. Enjoy them and hopefully you’ll start calling them ‘Mia’ as well.

Pink Moscato: My lovely Pink Moscato is made mainly with white, wonderfully aromatic Moscato grapes but I add a little touch of Tempranillo to them. The result is what I call a blush sparkler. As you pour it out, you’ll pick up the aroma of flowers and tropical fruits; and to taste, I think you’ll be pleased with its delicate fruity sweetness.

Red Wine: Mia red highlights all the qualities of Spain’s classic grape variety – Tempranillo. As I wanted the pureness of the grape to shine through, the wine isn’t barrelled in oak. The colour of the wine is a deep ruby red with a slightly violet blue touch, which is typical of a young Tempranillo. And if you put a glass of our red to your nose, you can smell a real earthiness, plus hints of plums, violets and even orange.  This is a real rich and fruity wine.

White Wine: Mia white is a young fruity wine made from a blend of Macabeo. Xarello and Parallada grapes -the three varieties that come from my home region of Penedes. I added a touch of Moscatel grape to the final blend as I find it gives the wine a fresh, almost tropical character. The wine is bright, straw yellow colour and has a wonderful aroma that reminds me of apples, pears and even banana. I can even catch a slight smell of white flowers and orange blossom, See if you can as well!

Fresh Crisp Wine:

Why keep bubbles just for special occasion? That’s why I created this friendly sparkler, using the three famous grapes of the Barcelona region – Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada. Its bright yellow colour is matched with a citrusy aroma and balanced delicate sweet taste. It is just about the best drink I know for an aperitivo before dinner – may be while waiting for that BBQ to be ready.

Rose Wine: Who doesn’t like a pink wine in summer? Our rosado is made with a really distinctive, quite unusual red grape. I use Bobal to give this wine its colour and we only allow the skins a short contact with the juice to have a delicate body. The result is a perfumed and slightly floral tasting wine with a real tang of strawberry and raspberry. Drink it chilled, on its own, or as a companion to cold cuts, salmon, seafood, pizza and my favourite, Thai dishes.  They are right, this was the perfect addition to pizza which seemed weird but was oh so right

Moscato Wine: We just use deliciously sweet Spanish Moscato grapes to make this favourite of mine.
It’s a really happy looking wine – bright bubbles and a sunny straw colour with a beautiful aroma and a taste that combines the flavours of peach and apricot. My parents used to drink Moscato after dinner with dried fruit but I’ve made it lighter and enjoy it with many types of food – from cheese to dessert.

Of all the wines, the Rose was my favorite. It is the perfect drink for any meal and was a big hit in my family!
