I am a huge fan of skin treatments, especially masks. I have been trying out the Adovia Purifying Mud Mask for a couple of weeks now and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with you.
I have oily, acne-prone skin so a nice mud mask is in my weekly routine. This mud mask was created using mud from the Deep Sea, Aloe Vera, and Vitamin C. The packaging is a simple squeeze-tube and the formula is quite thick. You get a lot of product, 5.1 oz to be exact.
The bottle says to apply a thin layer onto the face and let sit for 10-20 minutes. As it dries it draws out the oils, impurities, and toxins that can be causing clogged pores. I found it quite difficult to spread an even thin layer. It seemed to move entirely instead of spread thinner. In the future I plan on using a thicker layer and swipe it on area by area instead of laying down a dollop and spreading around.
I applied this mask after cleansing my skin. The texture of the mask itself is somewhat gritty, like fine sand, but not abrasive. I noticed that it felt cool, calming/soothing immediately. My face did not get tight like it does with most mud masks. I feel that it actually stayed quite moisturized throughout the entire 20 minutes I kept it on.
I used a warm, wet washcloth and gently removed it from my face. It washed off extremely easily with no pulling or tugging at my skin. Immediately afterwards I used my toner and then applied a serum. While I was doing those two steps I noticed that the products felt like they were absorbing more quickly, as if my skin was receiving the benefits of the toner and serum more thoroughly. I also noticed that my pores around my nose and mouth looked substantially more clear. Upon waking up the next day my skin felt smooth and my pores looked smaller.
